Authorities say they have intercepted almost 200 pounds of black-market marijuana that was traveling through Oklahoma.

Earlier this week, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics K9 Interdiction Unit stopped a vehicle that was making its way to the East Coast.

Investigators say they found approximately 190 pounds of black-market marijuana and four pounds of marijuana wax.

OBN agents say they also found medical marijuana labels and product packaging materials in the vehicle.

“Our investigation determined this load of black-market marijuana was being transported to Virginia where it would be packaged and labeled for re-sale in medical marijuana dispensaries. Often, dispensaries are putting patients at risk by selling products off the black market which is known for bypassing health and safety standards,” said OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward.

Authorities say the investigation is still ongoing.

Citizens who have information about illegal activity at Oklahoma dispensaries are encouraged to anonymously report it by sending OBN a message.
