TULSA, Okla. –

Tulsa, the “Capital of Route 66,” can now claim the first “musical road” segment on the highway, with the addition of strips on a bridge that play “This Land is Your Land” as cars go over them.

2,847: The number of rumble strips used to create the musical effect.
1,005: The number of feet the strips cover on the Route 66 bridge
19.46: The length, in seconds, of the music that plays on the bridge
35 mph: The speed limit, and speed needed for the right tempo
1940: The year “This Land is Your Land” was written by Woody Guthrie
2008: The number of classic cars registered for the May 30th Route 66 Capital Cruise as of March 31.
