Picking Up the Pace in the People’s House

By Rep. Ken Luttrell

As of this week, about 173 measures have been heard as the House continues working through the committee and floor process. We have approved roughly 198 House bills and joint resolutions so far and have sent them to the Senate for further consideration.

The last week has brought several long days and late nights on the House floor as we work to meet our next legislative deadline on March 26. During this stage of session, much of our time is spent debating bills and voting on measures before they move across the rotunda to the Senate.

I was recently honored by the Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma for my support of Oklahoma’s oil and natural gas industry. Energy policy has been a major focus of my work at the Capitol, including serving as vice chair of the House Energy Committee, chairman of the Center for Legislative Energy and Environmental Research and as a member of The Energy Council.

I also appreciated elected officials from Osage County taking the time to visit the Capitol and share their concerns. Hearing directly from local leaders is an important part of making sure we are representing our communities well.

If there’s an issue on your mind or a concern affecting your family or business, I want to know about it. You can reach me at [email protected] or call my office at (405) 557-7355. I’m honored to serve you and will keep working every day to move our state in the right direction.

Rep. Ken Luttrell serves District 37 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His district includes parts of Kay and Osage county.
