Katie Parr-Ponca City High School will host an information meeting for parents and guardians of incoming freshmen on Thursday, February 19, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the school commons. Families should enter through the main doors of the high school.
This meeting is designed to provide parents with important information to help support their studentโs successful transition into high school. During the session, school counselors and staff will review courses offered for incoming freshmen, explain the course selection process, and discuss academic expectations at the high school level.
Parents of student-athletes will also receive information regarding NCAA eligibility requirements and how course choices at the high school level can impact athletic participation at the collegiate level.
Additional topics will include an overview of the schoolโs new academic pathways, which allow students to explore interests and career-focused opportunities, as well as information about Oklahomaโs Promise, including eligibility requirements and enrollment deadlines.
The meeting will provide families the opportunity to ask questions, gain clarity about graduation requirements, and better understand how to support their student academically and socially as they begin their high school journey.
