A new breakfast brand is asking a simple question with a big payday attached: Will the real Jimmy Dean please stand up?
Bronco, a high-protein frozen breakfast bagel company, has launched a nationwide promotional search for individuals legally named Jimmy Dean, offering a potential cash reward of up to $150,000.
The promotion, called Operation Jimmy Dean, coincides with Bronco’s national rollout in Target stores, where its frozen breakfast bagel sandwiches began appearing in aisles on Dec. 28.
What is Operation Jimmy Dean?
Operation Jimmy Dean is a discretionary promotional search open to people in the United States whose legal name is Jimmy Dean. According to the company, eligible participants who complete an identity verification and qualification process may be considered for a potential $150,000 reward, subject to sponsor discretion.
The promotion runs from Jan. 5, 2026, through Jan. 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Bronco is not required to select a recipient during or after the promotional period.
Why Bronco is doing it
Bronco says the campaign is meant to mark its entry into what it calls a long-stagnant frozen breakfast category and to draw attention to its bagel-based sandwiches, a format the company says has been missing from freezer cases.
‘Finding a real person named Jimmy Dean who loves Bronco Breakfast Bagels would be a surreal full-circle moment,’ founder Connor Blakley said. ‘Will the real Jimmy Dean, please stand up?’
The company emphasized the promotion is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any other brand or trademark that uses the name Jimmy Dean.
What Bronco is selling
Bronco’s frozen breakfast bagel sandwiches are available exclusively at Target stores nationwide. The initial launch includes two varieties: Turkey Sausage, Egg & Cheese with 21 grams of protein, and Turkey Bacon, Egg & Cheese with 15 grams of protein.
The sandwiches are made with whole eggs, real cheese and a soft bagel, without seed oils, and are designed to be heated in a microwave or air fryer.
How to enter
People legally named Jimmy Dean who want to participate must be at least 18 years old and legal residents of the United States. No purchase is required.
To enter, participants must email [email protected] with the subject line ‘Hi, I’m Jimmy Dean’ and include their full legal name, age, city and state of residence, along with clear proof of identity showing the legal name Jimmy Dean.
Additional documentation may be required as part of the verification process. Any selected individual may also be required to complete tax forms and publicity releases and would be responsible for all applicable taxes.
