Multiple Oklahoma pharmacies agree to pay to settle allegations

OKLAHOMA CITY – Multiple Oklahoma pharmacies have agreed to pay $157,000 to settle allegations that they billed the Oklahoma Medicaid Program, SoonerCare, for hundreds of unauthorized over-the-counter COVID-19 tests.

Apothecary Pharmacy, Cornwell Pharmacy, Cushing Family Pharmacy, R.T.’s Family Discount Pharmacy, Foster Corner Drug, Tiger Drug, Yale Drug, Jones Drug Store and Swipht Pharmacy agreed to the settlement after an investigation by Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

“I appreciate the careful and extensive work by my investigative team to recover these funds,” Drummond said. “I take seriously all allegations of false claims and am committed to holding anyone who abuses the system accountable to the law.”

The investigation was handled by Assistant Attorney General Jamie Bloyd and Agents Justin Brown and Daniel Shcolnik.

About the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit: The Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office Medicaid Fraud Control Unit receives 75 percent of its funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under a grant award totaling $4,765,464 for federal fiscal year (FY) 2026. The remaining 25 percent, totaling $1,588,483 for FY 2026, is funded by the State of Oklahoma. The federal fiscal year 2026 is defined as October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026.
