By Molly Jenkins-It’s been a busy and fulfilling few weeks representing the great people of House District 33. I’m thankful for every opportunity to visit with Oklahomans who care deeply about our state, our values and the future we’re building together.
On Monday, Oct. 13, I had the privilege of speaking to the Payne County Republican Women’s Club in Stillwater. It was a wonderful gathering of strong, conservative women who are dedicated to faith, family and freedom.
I enjoyed sharing about my first year in office and, more importantly, hearing their ideas and priorities. It’s always encouraging to be among people who are actively engaged in keeping Oklahoma moving in the right direction.
The following week, on Oct. 20, we had an exciting day at the State Capitol. The Cushing Chamber Tomorrow’s Leaders Program, made up of 15 outstanding Cushing High School juniors, visited as part of their annual OKC Trip Session.
The group began the day at the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum before heading to the Capitol for lunch in the Supreme Court hallway. I joined Senator Randy Grellner in visiting with the students about state government and public service.
After lunch, the students toured the House of Representatives chamber, where each student had a chance to sit at my desk, see how the voting system works and take a few photos. It’s always a joy to watch young people learn about how their government functions. These students represent the kind of promise and leadership our state depends on, and I was honored to spend time with them.
I also had the pleasure of hosting members of the Oklahoma Eagle Forum at the Capitol. This group is made up of committed conservatives who stand for traditional values and limited government.
Alongside Rep. Jim Shaw, we discussed the issues most important to Oklahoma families and communities. I appreciate their engagement and dedication to preserving our freedoms.
Finally, I continue to spend time throughout Payne County and a portion of Logan County, meeting with constituents face-to-face is the best way to understand the needs and concerns of the people of our district. Whether it’s a local business, a school or a community event, I truly value every conversation and handshake.
Representing District 33 is an honor I do not take lightly. I’ll continue to fight for conservative principles, responsible government and the Oklahoma values that make our state strong.
I pray for you and thank God for the opportunity to serve you.
