On October 1, 2025, Officers with the Ponca City Police Department began conducting an investigation involving a juvenile female, who disclosed to her mother, that she had been sexually assaulted by the mother’s boyfriend. During the investigation, the juvenile was taken for a Forensic Interview. In that interview, she told investigators that 27-year-old Ricardo Lopez has been coming into her bedroom and touching her inappropriately, nearly every day, for the last couple of years. Another juvenile family member told investigators that they have seen the abuse occurring on more than one occasion and that they advised the victim to tell their mother.
Lopez was arrested by PCPD Officers later that day at an address in the 600 block of South Flormable. He was transported to the Ponca City Police Department and booked in for Child Sexual Abuse. After booking Lopez into jail, PCPD Booking Officers were notified that an active detainer was in place for Lopez from the office of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Lopez was transported to the Kay County Detention Center and his bond has been set at $250,000.00.
This is an arrest, not a conviction.
