Biggest shopping event of the year starts tomorrow

Ponca City Now - July 23, 2014 6:46 am

Calling all shoppers, it’s one of Ponca City’s biggest shopping weekends of the year. Crazy Days is a 50-year-old tradition, where stores have blowout sales. Rich Cantillion said there aren’t many stores who don’t participate.

“I would say about 99.9 percent of our retail stores in Ponca City particiapte in Crazy Days,” Cantillion said.

Target areas are downtown, Ponca Plaza, Prospect and Fifth and Harvard. The deals are a three day event from Thursday to Saturday. A lot of stores have sidewalk sales or have bargain racks inside. Cantillion said you won’t see these prices at any other time of the year.

" Last year my wife was telling me about one store and it was like $3 you can get jeans for, and it’s just incredible and it’s literally crazy prices,” Cantillion said.

He also said shopping Ponca first is very important for the community. Shopping Ponca first benefits the police and fire department, our roads and the public and private schools.
