In 2021, OBN established full-time statewide Marijuana Enforcement Teams to combat the increasing presence of criminal organizations setting up marijuana operations in Oklahoma.

These teams have focused on operations linked to black market trafficking and fraudulent acquisition of OBN registrations through “straw ownership” schemes.

By the end of 2022, there were 8,400 farms operating with an active OBN registration. As of today, that number has decreased to approximately 2,000.

Since 2022, OBN MET agents have seized over 1.8 million illegal marijuana plants, more than 200,000 pounds of processed marijuana, and have made over 300 arrests.
