77-year-old Ponca City man, was sentenced to two years behind bars on Wednesday for the death of a 17 year old woman in 1969.

In November 2024, Joseph Ambroz was arrested in Ponca City for the murder of 17-year-old Mary Key Heese’s murder in rural Nebraska in 1969.

After pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in July he received a two-year sentence, the maximum sentence allowed in 1969.

With credit for time served his sentence is one year.  Because of Nebraska’s Good Time law, he will only serve half of that.

Ambroz could be out of prison before Thanksgiving.
