Prevent Motorcycle Crashes Before They Happen – Free Safety Program from ABATE of Oklahoma
ABATE of Oklahoma is expanding its Share the Road program—a free, 30-minute multimedia presentation aimed at reducing motorcycle collisions and saving lives on Oklahoma roads.
Each year, far too many motorcyclists in our state are killed or seriously injured, often due to drivers failing to yield or notice motorcycles. As motorcycle registrations continue to rise in Oklahoma, this issue is only growing more urgent.
Share the Road addresses this through prevention, not just protection. Rather than focusing on helmet laws or crash survival, the program teaches drivers how to actively avoid collisions with motorcyclists.
Why This Matters
• Most motorcycle crashes involve another vehicle violating the rider’s right-of-way
• Awareness and education can significantly reduce fatal and serious crashes
• This is a community safety issue, not just a motorcyclist issue
What’s Included in the Free Program
• 30-minute presentation
• Experienced instructor
• PowerPoint slides and all A/V equipment
• Great for safety meetings, schools, civic groups, or employee briefings
“A crash that doesn’t happen is always safer than a crash that does,” says Lyndse Rust, State Coordinator for ABATE of Oklahoma. “Our goal is safer roads for everyone.”
