(Stillwater, OK) – Make plans to attend Stillwater’s Boomer Blast and GRDA’s Fireworks Show and Celebration on Friday, July 4, 2025, with food trucks open at 6 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

This free, annual celebration takes place at Boomer Lake Park, located at the corner of Washington Street and Lakeview Road, and features a spectacular 22-minute fireworks display.

“Boomer Blast is one of our favorite traditions,” Deputy Director of Parks and Community Resources Stephanie Kinder said. “We will have food trucks, inflatables, music, the American Red Cross comfort station, extra restrooms, additional roadway lighting, light-up swag (quantities are limited), and incredible fireworks. We invite families, friends, and neighbors to bring a blanket, enjoy the park, and celebrate together under the fireworks.”

Designated handicap parking will be in two areas – the corner of Lakeview and Washington and at Lakeview and Husband. The handicap reserved area will be staffed, a proper handicap placard is required, and spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

General parking is available at Stillwater High School and along public streets. Due to construction, Cimarron Plaza is not available for parking and there are no continuous sidewalks along Franklin and Washington. Attendees are encouraged to use the Kameoka Trail for safe access to the event.

Designated, legal crosswalks are located on Lakeview Bridge and at the corner of Washington Street and Lakeview Road. Additional roadway lighting will be provided to assist pedestrians and drivers after dark.

“The heat is definitely something we’re watching, and want everyone to stay safe,” Emergency Management Director Rob Hill included. “Wear breathable clothes, find shade when you can, and most importantly – stay hydrated. We’re excited to see the community come out and celebrate responsibly.”

The American Red Cross comfort station will be located near the playground on the west side of the park. Attendees are also encouraged to use the splash pad as a cooling station.

Some traffic and safety notes include:

  • Boat and vehicle access to Boomer Lake Park will be closed after 4 p.m. This includes vehicles near the splash pad and playground areas.
  • Harned Avenue will be closed from 4 to 11:30 p.m.
  • Lakeview Bridge will be closed from 7 to 11:30 p.m.

The firework show will be livestreamed on the City’s Facebook page for those who are unable to attend in-person. Stillwater Radio will host a live remote broadcast from 8-10 p.m. on KSPI Hot 93.7 FM.
