After a busy four months, the Oklahoma legislature is entering its final week of session.

Senate Pro Tem Lonnie Paxton says the legislature will look at veto overrides this week.

“It is not easy for an idea to be transformed into a law, and it shouldn’t be. It takes a long process to do that, and it includes a Governor signature,” Paxton told reporters. “It’s part of the process, but also we have the ability to to override that veto if enough members choose to do so in both the House and the Senate.”

Paxton said he and the House Speaker will meet with the Governor this week to let him know what bills they are thinking about overriding.

The legislature must adjourn no later than 5 p.m. on May 30.
