OKLAHOMA CITY — Attorney General Gentner Drummond is urging Governor Kevin Stitt to send Oklahoma troops after the U.S. Department of Homeland Security confirmed it has requested 20,000 National Guard troops to help with immigration enforcement.

“President Trump has been taking bold and decisive action to secure our borders and deport illegal immigrants, despite facing resistance at every turn from open-border radicals who seem intent on destroying America as we know it,” Drummond said. “I urge Gov. Stitt to put aside his personal animosity toward the President and act quickly to send our troops to assist with deportation efforts.”

Drummond said he hopes the Governor will stand with President Trump and act in the best interests of public safety, despite the fact that Stitt previously partnered with the Biden Administration to resettle thousands of Afghan “refugees” in Oklahoma.

“We need to be removing threats to our country, not importing them and allowing them to remain,” Drummond said. “While the Governor still refuses to deport the thousands of Afghan refugees he brought to Oklahoma, the least he can do is send our National Guard troops to support President Trump’s deportation efforts.”

He said his office will commit all the resources necessary to fight off any legal challenges to the deployment of Oklahoma National Guard troops for immigration enforcement.

“I’m sure the radical open-border leftists will file legal challenges to prevent Oklahoma troops from supporting the President’s immigration enforcement,” Drummond said. “My office has fought them off before, and we are well-prepared to fight them off again. I will do everything possible to support President Trump’s leadership in securing our borders and deporting criminal illegals.”
