In the early morning hours on Sunday, April 27th, Ponca City Police responded to the 900 Block of North Union in response to the report of a possible train vs. pedestrian accident.
BNSF contacted the Police Department and asked them to check the area for what appeared to be a person lying on the tracks.
Officers and Detectives responded to the scene and located a deceased person at that time. This investigation is being conducted in coordination with BNSF and the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office.
The name of the deceased person is not being released until the Medical Examiner can confirm the identity of the deceased and appropriate notifications to family can be made.
