School bus collides with car during improper turn

A school bus with five students collided with a car yesterday afternoon just north of Stillwater.

Department of Public Safety said the Chouteau-Mazie school bus driver, Jim Tate was on the east shoulder trying to turn around.

Mark Apperson pulled into the buses path and the bus struck the left side of his Thunderbird.

Neither Apperson nor his passenger, Heather Marquez were injured and there were no injuries on the bus either.

DPS said the cause of the collision was an improper turn around.

The collision was at 3:03 at US-77 and Yost Road just 1.5 mile north of Stillwater in Payne County.
