Hospice hosts Kentucky Derby watch party

Hospice is providing Ponca City with a taste of the Kentucky Derby.

They’re hosting a Kentucky Derby watch party.

Traci McKee, marketing representative said they are copying some of the traditions.

“Fake gambling, winning prizes, there is a hat contest for the women with the biggest, craziest, funnest hat,” McKee said.

They will also be serving hot brown sandwiches and mint juleps.

Traci McKee said they’ll have big screens outside Lydie’s Cottage playing the races at the Marland Mansion.

“We also have some VIP tables available and you can contact Hospice to get those," McKee said. "You can get a little closer to the screen, to the action."

Regular tickets are $50 and the derby is May 3 from 2 to 6.

All the proceeds will benefit Hospice, the nonprofit that helps people with their end of life journey.
