Motorcyclist injured in July 4 accident

A Ponca City resident was injured in a motorcycle accident on July 4, according to a delayed report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Chad Alan Rhea, 47, was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle about 7:05 p.m. on L.A. Cann, .2 miles north of Prospect Avenue, 27 feet east of the Ponca City city limits.

The Highway Patrol reported Rhea was northbound on L.A. Cann, preparing to negotiate a left curve. His motorcycle departed the  roadway to the right and struck a tree line, then overturned on its side.

Rhea was transported by private vehicle to Alliance Health Ponca City, and later transported by Life Flight to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa. He was admitted there in stable condition with internal and external trunk injuries and arm injuries.
