Local high school senior competes to be an American Eagle model

A local high school senior is competing to be an American Eagle model.

Cash VanBuskirk is asking for the communities help.

First you will have to make a profile for yourself, but don’t fret that’s just what allows you to vote.

Log-in using Facebook, then click the heart under each picture everyday.

It’s a five week competition, and each week the 10 people with the most likes are placed in the top 50.

On Mar.17 American Eagle officials choose 20 winners to model in its Back to School campaign.

Vanbuskirk said he wants to represent Ponca City on a national level.

“I want to show a small town boy can make it in the big city, because I have been looking at some the competition and they are from these huge cities," Vanbuskirk said. "I think it would be cool to show the small town guy can do the same.”

His profile captures scenes of Ponca City and pride for his hometown.

Not only is Vanbuskirk showing is love for Ponca City, but he is showing is artistic-side.

Vanbuskirk is a potter who has his own studio and sells his work at local festivals.

“I am definitely selling myself on my artist-side," Vanbuskirk said. " I think that is really unique from the rest. I have looked at people who have won in the past and no ones ever done anything like this. I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to show everyone what I can do and what I am made of.”

If Vanbuskirk wins American Eagle will fly him to its headquarters for the photo shoot.
