Lawmakers criticize schools for cancelling classes

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Two Oklahoma Republican lawmakers are criticizing several schools that decided to cancel class one day next month so teachers and students can attend a rally at the state Capitol. Sand Springs Superintendent Lloyd Snow says as many as 300 districts may join the rally. He tells The Oklahoman that Sand Springs transportation will be paid for with private funding and that the missed day will be made up. The Oklahoma City school district says it’s not canceling classes for the rally.
