Blackwell Regional Hospital gets bought out

Ponca City Medical Center’s parent company bought Blackwell Regional Hospital.

Ponca City Medical Center is owned by Community Health Systems, which bought Health Management Systems that owned Blackwell Regional Hospital.

According to a press release from CHS they now own, lease or operate 206 hospitals in 29 states.

The organization employs more than 135,000 people and about 27,000 physicians serve on the medical staff.

CHS acquired six other hospitals in Oklahoma in the acquisition, Clinton Regional Hospital, Marshall County Medical Center, Mayes County Medical Center, Seminole Medical Center, Medical Center of SE Oklahoma and Midwest Regional Medical Center.
