Ponca City Republican Bill Coleman officially is on the job as State Senator for District 10.

He was sworn in during a ceremony at the Capitol on Wednesday, alongside friends, family and other supporters in the Senate Chamber.

“I want to sincerely thank the citizens of District 10 for giving me the opportunity to represent them and be their voice at our state Capitol,” said Coleman. “I’m looking forward to getting to work to help boost tourism around the state and expand our economy to help provide more resources for our classrooms and teachers as well as other core state services.”

Coleman graduated from Pawhuska High School. He and his wife, Helen, raised their three children in Ponca City. He owns and operates Team Radio Marketing Group, a family of five North Central radio stations. Helen is a former teacher.

The Senate will hold a one-day organizational meeting on Jan. 8, 2019, and the session will formally get underway on Feb. 4.
