Gas prices in Okla. well below national average

Ponca City Now - January 8, 2014 7:31 am

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Oklahomans are feeling a little relief at the gasoline pumps.

AAA Oklahoma reports that statewide pump averages have fallen the past few days to $3.053. This is 26 cents below the national average of $3.314.

But pump prices across Oklahoma and the rest of the country are higher than they were two weeks ago. The increase is being blamed on refinery issues and cold temperatures, which have decreased demand for gasoline but increased demand for heating oil.

As of Tuesday, no state in the country had gas prices below $3 per gallon.
