Police looking for suspect in theft of tool set

Ponca City Now - June 19, 2018 1:10 pm

Between 6:30 p.m. and 6:47 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, the subject shown in these surveillance pictures from Atwood’s entered the store empty-handed. After walking through the power tools, he selected a DeWalt brand power tool set from the shelf and put in in the shopping basket.

Ponca City Police said he pushed the shopping cart to the registers, where he attempted a fraudulent product return for cash. He was asked to present his ID to complete the transaction. He complained, saying he had never needed one before. He told the cashier that he would simply come back to do the return when a different manager was on duty.

The man pushed the shopping cart out of the front doors with the tool set still inside it. He got into a dark colored Honda car and drove out of the parking lot.

In addition to wearing a cell phone ear piece in his left ear, he has a lighter skin patch directly under his left eye. He may also have lighter skin patches on his left hand near his knuckles.

If you recognize the subject from the surveillance pictures, please contact the Ponca City Area Crime Stoppers at 762-5100 or 767-0370.
