Cattle Rustling Seminar Scheduled In Pauls Valley

Ponca City Now - October 8, 2013 7:45 am

PAULS VALLEY, Okla. (AP) – A Texas-based group that has represented the ranching industry for more than 100 years is briefing Oklahoma ranchers and landowners about how to protect themselves from cattle rustlers.

A special ranger with the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association is scheduled to update ranchers on cattle thefts during the ranch meeting Tuesday at the Donald W. Reynolds Recreational Center in Pauls Valley. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., and the event is free and open to the public.

Attendees will be briefed on how to better protect themselves from thieves and the latest legislative activity affecting farmers and ranchers.

Cattle theft has consistently been a problem across much of the southwest, particularly in Texas – the nation’s biggest cattle producer – and to a lesser extent Oklahoma.
