141st Ponca Celebration starts Thursday

The 141st Annual Ponca Celebration will be held Thursday, Aug. 24, through Sunday, Aug. 27, at the historic White Eagle Park south of Ponca City.

MCs will be Kinsel Lieb and Lester Eagle. Head singer is Littlebear Littlecook.

Head Man Dancer will be Graham Primeaux. AD’s will be Stanley Smith and Michael Snake, and Water Carriers will be Charles and Patrick Warrior.

Kick-Off Activities

Thursday, Aug. 24 – Walk to Fight Diabetes! 7:30-9:30 a.m. at the Walking Track (Behind Wellness Center in White Eagle Community)

Aug. 24-26 – 2017 Amateur Arts/Crafts/Literary Free Fair at Ponca Tribal Affairs Dining Hall. Deadline for submissions is Friday Aug. 25 at noon. Judging will be Aug. 25 at 2 p.m.

Other Celebration Activities

Friday and Saturday starting at 10 a.m., rations will be delivered to camps, only ACTIVE fireplaces will be issued rations. Decisions of committee reps will be final.
