Three promoted to rank of Police Sergeant

Three Corporals were promoted to the rank of Sergeant Wednesday in a pinning ceremony.

Manny Lara joined the Ponca City Police Department in May of 2008 as a Patrol Officer.  He attended Northern Oklahoma College and obtained an Associate Degree in Science in 2005. Lara has been assigned as the Po-hi School Resource Officer for the last 3 years. Lara was named Ponca City Police Officer of the year for 2013. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in May of 2017.

Cory Vincent joined the Ponca City Police Department in September of 2009 as a Patrol Officer.  He attended Northern Oklahoma College, and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Oklahoma State University in 2014.

Jason Ivers joined the Ponca City Police Department as a Patrol Officer in September of 2011. He served four years in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman.  Ivers was chosen as Ponca City Police Officer of the Year in 2012. After an honorable discharge, Ivers attended Pioneer Tech and completed the EMT course. He remained active in the US Navy Reserve until 2015.
