OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – The average price for gasoline in Oklahoma has risen six cents in the past week and by 31 cents in the past six weeks.
AAA Oklahoma says the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular was $2.16 on Tuesday, the ninth lowest average price in the nation.
The national average is $2.35 per gallon.
Prices in selected Oklahoma cities range from $2.08 per gallon in Lawton to $2.21 in both Guymon and Stillwater. Drivers Tulsa are paying $2.12 per gallon on average while those in Oklahoma City are paying nearly $2.15.
AAA spokesman Chuck Mai said prices are expected to rise as seasonal refinery maintenance begins during spring. Mai said future prices will be largely dependent on whether the oil cartel countries implement their goal of cutting production.
