Board Of Education Filings

Candidates for the Board of Education in seven Kay County School Districts file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Dec. 2.

Cheryl Howard, Kay County Election Board secretary said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Dec. 4.

The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the annual school election Feb. 11.

If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the total votes cast in this election, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will meet in an election on April 1.

Offices for which Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board Office include the following:

Blackwell School I-45 Office #1 2 year unexpired term

Office #4 5 year term

Kildare School C-50 Office #2 3 year term

Newkirk School I-125 Office #4 5 year term

Peckham School C-27 Office #3 3 year term

Pioneer Technology V-13 Office #2 5 year term

Ponca City School I-71 Office #4 5 year term
