CATOOSA, Okla. (AP) – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says two people have died in a three-vehicle collision that occurred when one of the vehicles traveled eastbound in the westbound lanes of the Will Rogers Turnpike in Rogers County.

Troopers say the collision occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Friday less than a mile west of Catoosa. The victims were identified as 32-year-old Crystal Lopez of Tulsa and 40-year-old George Landing of Broken Arrow. The patrol says each of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injuries.

Troopers say the collision occurred when a vehicle driven by Lopez that was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the turnpike struck a westbound pickup truck driven by Landing head on. Landing’s pickup was then struck by another westbound vehicle.
