Rose Darlene Brown

(February 13, 1955 – March 24, 2017)

Rose Darlene Brown of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away Friday morning, March 24, 2017, at her home southwest of Blackwell at the age of 62 years.

Rose Darlene Brown was born on February 13, 1955, in Anthony, Kansas, to Chester and Wanda (Cheney) DeTar. As a young girl she grew up in Anthony and Arkansas City, Kansas, before moving with her family to Lamont where she began her education. After a year they moved to Blackwell where she completed her education in Blackwell Public Schools. Following her education she began working for First National Bank and later Central National Bank in Blackwell. In 2000 she married Ronald Brown on May 20, 2000, in Blackwell. And that same year began working as a floral designer at Anytime Flowers before owning and operating Rosie’s Country Blessings in Blackwell. She later worked at Mind Your Own Business and Embellished Home in Ponca City. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Blackwell Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed her flower garden, designing floral arrangements and her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Ron Brown of Blackwell; children, Cameron Welch of Ponca City, Amy Brown of Norman, and Cole Brown of Blackwell; a sister, Lora DeTar of Blackwell; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Gage Welch; and two nephews, C. J. Shriver and Ryan Brown.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 28th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Brown of Norman officiating.

Honorary casketbearers will be Jack Hurst, Danny Shepherd, Max Smyth, Doug Newton, Cole Brown and Don Brown.
